Happy Early Spring, Region 5! With some spring-like days, our show season is just around the corner! To help get us even more excited about another wonderful year in Region 5, I would like to share a comment made by one of our friends, Nicole. In response to a question to share a favorite thing about WE, Nicole said, “The type of partnership with your horse required in order to be successful (working equitation community is a close second but you don’t know about that until you actually get into it!)” I think we can all relate to what Nicole shared!

There are three licensed show weekends scheduled in May to kick off the season – two in Illinois and one in Michigan. If you aren’t ready or able to compete, please consider volunteering or coming out to cheer and be part of our fabulous R5 WE family! The Region 5 Championship show committee has been hard at work getting ready for our championship in October in Northern Illinois. This show will be held at Fox Valley Saddle Association just west of Chicago. We are all really excited for this fun event! To stay up to date and get more information, please find and like the event Facebook page – USA Working Equitation Region 5 Championship. There will be opportunities to participate in many ways, in addition to competing.
