SUMMARY:OR: (24-057) WE Oregon August Show - with Judge Seminar
DESCRIPTION:We are soliciting applications to participate as a demo rider (Friday\, August 16) and/or competitor (Saturday/Sunday\, August 17 & 18) at our upcoming Judge Training and Calibration session being held at the Oregon Horse Center’s Prairie Arena.\n\nThe purpose of the Judge Training event is to provide an opportunity for current licensed judges to continue to refine their skills through structured activities under the guidance of a highly-respected international WAWE judge\, António Vicente\, from Portugal.\n\nMore information about the seminar will be shared by the Licensed Officials Committee once they have finalized details. The seminar will include one day of lecture /discussion of videos held at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Kruse Lane in Springfield Thursday\, August 15)\, and one day of watching / discussing live demo riders held at the Prairie Arena at the Oregon Horse Center (Friday\, August 16)\, followed by two\, back-to-back one day licensed competitions\, also at OHC’s Prairie Arena (August 17-18).\n\nThe Saturday competition will give judges attending the event the opportunity to listen to the presiding judge’s comments and scores. The Sunday competition will give them the chance to score the rides as part of a calibration exercise that is part of the requirements for promotion as a judge. Only the presiding judges’ scores will be used for placing at the competition.\n\nPoints / scores earned at these competitions can be used for Regional and National Leaderboard standing as well as to qualify for the Championships.\n\nWe are seeking demo riders at the following levels:\nL7 – L5:  2-3 demo riders\, total\nL4 – L3: 2-3 demo riders\, total\nL2 – L1: 2-3 demo riders\, total\n\nWe are seeking the following horse/rider pairs for the competitions:\nL7 – Masters: 1-3 entries\nL6 – Advanced: 1-3 entries\nL5 – Intermediate B: 2-5 entries\nL4 – Intermediate A: 4-5 entries\nL3 – Novice B: 3 entries\nL2 – Novice A: 3 entries\nL1 – Introductory – 3 entries\n\nPriority Registration will be granted to those competing in L4 and above\, with additional spots opening up for L1 – L3 riders only if room remains.\n\nFees:\nShow Entry Fee: $250 for one day of showing; $350 for both days.\nStabling: $50/night (whether used for horse or as a tack/feed stall)\nShavings: $10/bag\nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used.\n\nDemo Rider Discount – If selected to participate as a demo rider\, you will receive $250 off your entry fees (per equine you use for the demo rides)\n\n\nTack Stall: $100\n\nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nTo participate\, riders must be current members of USAWE\, and all horses must be recorded with USAWE.
