SUMMARY:IL: Horseless Introduction to Working Equitation Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day to learn about the sport of Working Equitation. We will discuss all four phases of the sport including as the building blocks.\nThe primary focus of the day will be spent reviewing the requirements for the obstacle portions of the sport – the Ease of Handling trial and the speed trial. We will walk through each obstacle and discuss what the judges are looking for and training ideas to help you get started in the sport. After all obstacles are reviewed we will have participants do an actual course walk where we will discuss strategy and how it differs between Ease of Handling and Speed.\nWorking Equitation is for everyone – all rider levels\, all breeds\, and all disciplines. All you need is the desire to learn and a little commitment. And don’t let speed phase scare you away – only Levels 2 and above are required to do speed.\nClinic is taught by Karen and Mike of KarMik Acres. Karen is an accredited Judge and Technical delegate. Both Karen and Mike hold multiple Year End Championships in Levels 1-5.\nCost for the clinic is only $50.\nSpace is limited so pre-registration is required. Regional Championships are a BIG DEAL! \nAWARDS\nChampionship – neck sashes for overall placings\, Champion – 6th place in each level and division. \nA-Rated Show – rosettes 1st – 5th for overall placings in each level and division. \nLevels Offered:\nIntroductory – Masters \nDivisions Offered:\nJunior\, Amateur\, Open \nTwo “Best Turned-Out Horse/Rider” awards will be selected by the two judges: one for English and the other for Western riders. The winner of the English award will receive a beautiful Dressage-style English Show Pad. HHP staff will be available on Friday-Sunday during office hours to take bedding orders in addition to pre-orders.  \nTo compete in a Regional Championship\, Horse/Rider pair must have earned an average of 58% or higher combined Dressage and EOH score\, without disqualifying in Speed (Novice A and above) at a USAWE licensed competition held in Region 5 in the 2019-2021 Competition Year(s). Qualifying score must have been earned at the level being entered. Riding portion of the clinic will focus on proper and safe introduction and execution of each obstacle. \nDay 2:\nWill start out focusing briefly on the Dressage phase and then a schooling show which will be videotaped and each ride re watched as a group with Emily’s comments as we watch. Copies of each ride will be sent to riders. Riders will also leave with written comments and score sheets from their schooling rounds. \nWorking Equitation is a great sport for ANY horse or rider. It gives the horse and rider a job\, focus and purpose. It also helps riders to set and reach their goals. DESCRIPTION:We’ve constructed an over-the-top\, regulation obstacle course for the Working Equitation Shows\, Practice Sessions & Mini clinics. The obstacles are key to practicing the Ease Of Handling and Speed Trials within Working Equitation. Our entire course or several obstacles will be set during each practice session for Team KarMik members. We will provide different setups with varied obstacles at each session. Come to one or come to all of the practice sessions. You can come to just have some fun with the obstacles or come with the intention of going on to compete and test your skills at schooling shows\, B-Rated\, Regional or National levels. The sky is the limit. We assure you our practice sessions and course will prepare you for anything you want to do in Working Equitation. Come join the fun. Look forward to seeing you. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day with of instruction on the obstacles on Saturday and then Sunday will be a schooling show to test out your skills. The focus of the clinic will be on requirements and strategies to progress with the obstacles\, though any questions will be covered as time permits. All levels of riders and horse welcome. Learn from experienced competitors with multiple year end Championships in Levels 1-5\, as well as accredited Judge and Technical Delegate for the sport. Some people might opt to participate as a Schooling Ride in the Saturday show\, for example\, and compete in the Sunday show\, while others might prefer to compete in both. \nIf you compete in both shows\, you’ll have double the opportunity to earn points toward USAWE National and Regional Awards\, as well as double the opportunity to earn points toward our High Point Buckle Series! \nThis entry form is for the JULY 3 – 4 SHOWS. \nEntry Fees:\nOne show: $250\nTwo shows: $350 \nEntry fee includes stabling the night prior and the day you are showing\, as well as lunch each show day.\nPlease plan to bring your own bedding for your stall. \nIf you are coming in with your horse on Friday\, please plan to arrive between 4 – 6:00 PM.
