SUMMARY:WI: The Sunrise Ranch WE Spring Clinic
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to bring to you the first Working Equitation Licenced Shows at the Sunrise Ranch. For this weekend we are flying in the well-loved W.E. judge Cari Schwartz of Oregon. \nCari has competed in W.E. successfully through Master’s Level and has judged Working Equitation for many years. Cari has also trained/ competed to the highest levels in Dressage\, Eventing\, Hunter/ Jumpers\, and Equitation\, earning her first USDF Bronze Medal in 1980 and Individual/ Team Gold Medals in US Eventing at the Junior Olympics. Since her first Working Equitation competition in 2013\, Cari has been an avid competitor\, instructor\, judge\, and promoter of this sport which she is so passionate about! \nThe 2022 Sunrise Ranch Spring Working Equitation shows are two full separate events\, one on Saturday\, and one on Sunday. We offer this specifically for those wanting to make the most of the weekend and compete both days. \nBesides the standard Ease of Handling obstacle course\, Dressage test\, and Speed Challenge\, we will be offering the Cattle Trial each day. Here at the Sunrise Ranch\, we are proud of our Scottish Highland herd and enthusiastic to be supporting the skill of working cows from horseback by offering this part of Working Equitation at our shows. Aside from some really unique awards for each level\, we are donating one magnificent Long-horned scull art piece to the horse and rider team showing the highest level ofexcellence in partnership as evaluated by the judge from both days’ competition! See the comments on this post for some photos of this award. \nWe have asked Cari Schwartz to come a day early so that we can offer group lessons on Friday. Don’t miss this chance to give you and your horse an opportunity to practice with us on excellence in the arenas under Cari’s guidance before the weekend shows! \nWe are limiting the number of entries for these shows\, so be sure to contact us soon to get your spot reserved! The Google form we have created will clearly provide all the details\, as well as allow you to tailor your weekend to your goals and needs. \nFill out this form to reserve your spot in the SRR June shows! \nhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScDbC5BqwhojTXOtiV0BVdVi7JE9vvM2rrDRQu_sygUMLQzxQ/viewform?fbclid=IwAR3X51N1pHZnf2YSqkJkJsnH4QRTD8eTO9itd5uZC4qH4jU9OP9rEtup-kk \nthesunriseranch@gmail.com

SUMMARY:WI: Sunrise Ranch Schooling Show
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to begin our season of Working Equitation events by having Emily Kemp \nreturn for a Working Equitation Schooling show! This two-day event is the perfect way to \nlearn what this fun new sport is all about and practice taking part in a show in a relaxed \ninstructional way. \nOn Saturday\, Emily will be offering private or small group lessons on which ever of the three \ntrials you wish to focus on. The Sunrise Ranch Ease of Handling course is designed \naccording to the official WE requirements and Emily Kemp will walk you through how to \naccomplish each obstacle with excellence. \nThe new SRR dressage arena has a spectacular view of the White River Valley. Here Emily \nwill walk you through the new 2022 WE Dressage pattern or coach you in how to tackle the \ncattle trial. Here at the Sunrise Ranch raises Scottish Highland cattle\, and working them \nfrom horseback is a skill we are enthusiastic to encourage through Working Equitation. \nOn Sunday you get to put all three phases together in the Schooling Show. Run like a \nlicensed show\, the schooling show offers you and your horse the chance to experience \ndoing each part\, Dressage\, Ease of Handling\, and Cattle Trial. You may even have a \n“caller” guide you through the order of the course to support your navigation. \nWe will be limiting entries to this schooling show so be sure to sign up early. SUMMARY:IL: Horseless Introduction to Working Equitation
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day to learn about the sport of Working Equitation. We will discuss all four phases of the sport including as the building blocks.\nThe primary focus of the day will be spent reviewing the requirements for the obstacle portions of the sport – the Ease of Handling trial and the speed trial. We will walk through each obstacle and discuss what the judges are looking for and training ideas to help you get started in the sport. After all obstacles are reviewed we will have participants do an actual course walk where we will discuss strategy and how it differs between Ease of Handling and Speed.\nWorking Equitation is for everyone – all rider levels\, all breeds\, and all disciplines. All you need is the desire to learn and a little commitment. And don’t let speed phase scare you away – only Levels 2 and above are required to do speed.\nClinic is taught by Karen and Mike of KarMik Acres. Karen is an accredited Judge and Technical delegate. Both Karen and Mike hold multiple Year End Championships in Levels 1-5.\nCost for the clinic is only $50.\nSpace is limited so pre-registration is required. Bring a lunch and refreshments.\n*Refunds only if we reschedule so please make sure you are able to attend prior to registration.
